It is important to minimize lost time and waiting time in the battery stacking process and improve the ability to handle high-mix production. Omron’s solution offers flexible production that achieves both flexibility and high production.
The stacking process is often a roadblock to production efficiency, making high-speed, high-precision processing in this process a critical issue. Our solutions enable flexible, high-speed stacking through our unique transport technologies that minimize the time required for vibration to cease, and through SCARA robots that can stack electrodes of many different sizes and flexibly transport workpieces.
Tests using our model stacking equipment showed that our method could speed up stacking that took one second with previous methods by 30%. Our control applications can resolve many issues in the stacking process. For example, they can reduce the time required for vibration to cease, and configure complex settings that are necessary when adding a new type of workpiece.
