Electromagnetic RFID System Combines High Speed with Ease of Operation

May 16, 2004 (ASIA PACIFIC) -
Omron's V670 Radio
Frequency Identification System (RFID System) offers greater
performance to address demanding data capturing application on
the production floor.
Omron’s V670 system is a high-speed production line control and
data tracking system which operates in self-execution mode. This
eliminates delay required for communication with a host
controller, therefore providing the speedy processing required
to track products as they move on high-speed production lines.
Its rapid read/ write control is user-friendly, with ease of
operation that is similar to an on/ off sensor.
The V760 system ID tags incorporate batteryless ferroelectric
RAM technology that eliminates battery replacement, tag
replacement or related maintenance. Each tag has a memory
capacity of 128 bytes and can be accessed 1,000,000,000 times,
enabling virtually continuous use for ten years. Antennas
located ten centimeters apart experience no mutual interference
that might lead to malfunction.
The V670 system is ideal for process inspection of moving
objects in production lines for foods, chemicals, cosmetics, or
compact parts. Other applications include flow control of moving
objects in material handling environments, including sorting and
distribution, and control of component mounting in assembly
areas.
About Omron's RFID Systems
Omron’s RFID systems act as portable databases that allow
information to be accessed and modified at any point on the
production line. Built for reliable operation under rugged
conditions, count on Omron RFID systems to take on a wide range
of conditions, including harsh environments, where bar coding is
not practical. RFID tags, RFID antenna and RFID controllers are
all industrially hardened to withstand wet, oily and other
adverse conditions.
