Frequently Asked Questions

Pressure Sensor Topic: Negative Pressure Applied to Positive Pressure Sensor

FAQ No. FAQ01225

Question

Will a Pressure Sensor for positive pressure fail if a load is applied to it?

Answer

The Sensor may be damaged if the absolute value of the pressure reaches or exceeds the withstand pressure. With the E8F2-A01C Pressure Sensor, for example, the withstand pressure is 400 kPa, so the Sensor will not fail if it is used within the range of –400 to 400 kPa for 30 s max.
